Tomorrow is Election Day If you are eligible and haven’t voted in the Wisconsin Spring Election already, walk over to First Congregational Church (801 Bushnell St.) from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. You can vote using your student ID, as long as it matches your legal name. The DEADLINE to vote on the new Buccaneer name is April 20. A committee of faculty, staff, and students selected the finalists from a long list of submissions from our campus community. Thank you to everyone who sent in a name! Sports RecapMen’s Lacrosse secured a big road win at Marian University. Ryder Story ’27 finished the night with five assists, involving himself in 60% of scoring plays and achieving a new career best. Liam Walker ’26, Sky Solig ’27, Rilan Larmore ’28 and Isaac Guttormson ’27 all added their names to the scoresheet for an 8-3 win. Women’s Lacrosse battled hard. Against Lawrence University, Willow Mashkuri ’28 scored two goals, taking her season tally to seven. Julia Fussy ’28 contributed, making her season total seven. Against Lake Forest College, Menah Garcia ’28 netted her second goal of the season. Goalkeeper Kim Pilon ’28 put on a show with 22 saves across the match ups. Baseball secured two wins in their series against Monmouth College. Pitcher Ben Schweit ’27 was unstoppable in game one, throwing all nine innings and allowing only one earned run. In game three, Seth Brankey ’27 opened a scoring frenzy with a single home run, followed by Drew Hanson ’26 hitting a huge two-run homer to extend the lead. On the mound, pitcher Bryce Lermer ’29 struck out eight batters in six innings. Softball played a doubleheader at Monmouth College, which saw Allison Olson ’27 hammer a solo home run, kicking off a 12-run game for the Bucs. Kaylee Witte ’26 was a force at the plate, batting in five runs. In addition, Avary Briggs ’28 had two hits in four at-bats. Track and Field kicked off their outdoor season on Thursday, where Kembre Daniel ’28 took first place in the 800 meter with a time of 1:58.49. Nate Otis ’26 cleaned up in the 400m hurdles with a first place finish. On the women’s side, sprinter Syniyah Quenga ’29 blazed to a second place finish with a time of 13.16 seconds. In the middle distance, Simone De Montigny ’26 secured a tenth place finish with a season-best 5:14.77 time. Upcoming Home GamesCheer on the Buccaneers at these home games happening this week! Sweet music is flowing at Maple Tree Studios![]() Anson Phan ’26, double major in media studies and philosophy, and Jasmine Kingsbury ’28, double major in music and mathematics, are co-audio engineers of Maple Tree Studios. Their goal is to provide students the best experiences in their sessions, and they rely on each other to manage the time and technology it takes to make that happen. While these days, the sounds are smooth, the recent studio remodel meant they started from scratch. Two exceptional professors receive tenure![]() The Board of Trustees of Beloit College approved the granting of tenure to Joseph Derosier, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, and Ben Stucky, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Both joined the tenure-track faculty in 2020, and their promotion to associate professor recognizes their contributions to teaching, academic programs, student recruitment, and shared governance at Beloit College.
