Michele Belvitch Erikson’84 DSC
1998 Distinguished Service Citation
Michele Belvitch Erikson, former director of Beloit College’s Annual Fund, tireless volunteer, and devoted advocate for those in need. Whether working to increase the level of literacy in the region, improve the quality of education in your community, or strengthen the foundations of your alma mater, you have set a standard of determination and service admired by co-workers and fellow volunteers. Since your graduation, you have called Beloit home and worked to promote the College and community. Your leadership has been a driving force and inspiration in the achievement of extraordinary goals. Since 1986, you have served on the Stateline Literacy Council as a tutor, board member, and president, gaining national recognition for that program. Your commitment to education and youth is evident in your efforts in various capacities on behalf of the Merrill Neighborhood Revitalization Group, the Voluntary Action Center, Stand for Children, the School District of Beloit, Friends of Riverfront, your own neighborhood elementary school, and, of course, this College.
As you have brought honor to Beloit College by your selfless dedication to the community, we are proud, in return to honor you with the Alumni Association’s highest award, the Beloit College Distinguished Service Citation, on this, the occasion of your 15th reunion.
