1974 Distinguished Service Citation
Possessing a fervent belief that everyone owes his community something, you have taken advantage of a flexible schedule as a successful insurance executive to demonstrate a positive attitude toward civic affairs in Rockford, Illinois.
Winner of the Rotary’s coveted “Service Above Self” Award, you have been president of the United Fund, Booker T Washington Center, Kiwanis Club and Conklin School PTA; moderator of the Second Congregational Church and chairman of its boards of deacons and music; vice president of the Boys’ Club, and a director of the Chamber of Commerce, Children’s Home and Shephard of the Street.
Professionally, you have been a key officer in chartered life underwriting chapters on the state, regional and local level, and you are a member of Equitable of Iowa’s President’s Cabinet and the National Million Dollar Round Table.
In recognition of your unselfish service and enterprising leadership, Beloit College in honored to present you this Citation on the occasion of the 25th Reunion of your Class of 1949 – and on the 60th Anniversary of your parents’ Class of 1914.
