Ellis Houston Denney’1915 DSC
Banker – Trustee
As you lead your fellow classmates into their second half-century of service to their Alma Mater, Beloit College is pleased and honored to be another of the many organizations and institutions which have been strengthened and ennobled by your interest and service. You have rendered devoted and distinguished service to the West Suburban Hospital of Oak Park for more than thirty years as its president. You have been made a Citizen Fellow of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago. The Chicago Chapter, American Red Cross, has already honored you for forty years of continuous service with that organization – service which started in Beloit. Your work as chairman of a citizens’ committee to organize a tuberculosis sanitarium district in Cook County has brought further recognition to you. Beloit College is itself indebted to you for the many years of loyal service you have rendered it as a member of its Board of Trustees and as Secretary of the Class of 1915. A Phi Beta Kappa as an undergraduate, and a recipient of the Croix de Guerre for your World War I service you early gave evidence of the distinguished life you were to lead. Beloit College now welcomes you to the ranks of alumni whose accomplishments are proudly and affectionately recognized with this Distinguished Service Award.
