William Wheeler Bunge’1923 DSC

You have made your mark as a successful pioneer in the field of real estate financing.

Mortgage Banker – Trustee

A fourth generation Beloiter whose roots to the college date back to great-grandfather S. Pearl Lathrop, a member of the faculty in 1849, you have made your mark as a successful pioneer in the field of real estate financing. You bridged the gap from salesman to founder and president of Amortized Mortgages, Inc, one of the largest associations of its kind in the Midwest. By 1958, as chief executive of this firm and as a director and officer of Central Mortgage Co., Inc., you had supervisory responsibility for $25 million worth of mortgages a year. The high esteem in which your associates hold you is indicated by your election as a director, and later as president, of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association. You also have served as a director and officer of several leading firms engaged in either the mortgage, real estate or insurance business. In 1962, shortly after completing a three-year term as Alumni Trustee, you were elected to the College Board of Trustees. Beloit is proud to list you among her distinguished sons and daughters and in recognition of your various accomplishments and your service to the College is pleased to award you this Distinguished Service Citation.
