Civic Servant – Volunteer
Supporting a strong belief that people should be involved, you have filled your days with all manner of civic activities and service in the Neenah-Menasha area. Known as the Red Cross “handy woman,” you annually donate 1,000 hours to its programs, managing the blood bank, directing volunteer efforts and spending one day weekly working directing volunteer efforts and spending one day weekly working directly with patients at the Winnebago State Hospital. You also give generously of your time to serve as president of the Historical Society, board member of the Friends of Bergstrom Museum, participant in the Meals-on-Wheels program, vice president-elect of Altrusa and worker in March of Dimes, Heart Fund and Cancer drives. A former state bacteriologist, you remain a good friend of education as the widow of a school superintendent. The Business and Professional Women’s Club acknowledged your magnificent contributions and humanitarian service by naming you “Woman of the Year’ in 1970, when you also were listed in “Personalities of the West and Midwest.” Because your life of service represents the highest fulfillment of Beloit’s goals, the College is pleased to present this Citation to you as your Class observes its Golden Anniversary Reunion.
