1977 Distinguished Service Citation
Civic Servant – Business Executive
You have applied Beloit’s emphasis on individual responsibility and use of creativity to build a career of successful business management and outstanding service to your fellow citizens. You are a co-owner with your husband of Arizona’s oldest continuous ranch operation, president of Seroptimist International, the world’s largest women’s classified service organization, and an eloquent supporter of equality, human rights and peace. A member of the Commission on International Women’s Year, you were vice moderator of the 187th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church and a member of its Mission Council and an honorary member of the President’s Commission on the Handicapped. Your vigorous civic leadership has been acknowledged in citations from the President, five state governors and the American Association of University Women and through listing in various “Who’s Who” volumes. Because your exemplary humanistic interests and concerns so well symbolize a major goal of Beloit College, your Alma Mater takes pleasure in presenting you this Citation as your Class gathers for its 40th Reunion.
