Inspired by the philosophy instilled in you by several “unforgettable” Beloit professors, you have contributed enthusiastically and productively to many aspects of life in your community. You have demonstrated that such personal involvement holds a key to success and happiness, and to significant service to society. A creative and energetic business executive and civic leader for most of the four decades that have passed since your graduation from the College, you have undertaken important responsibilities in the service of your profession and your community of Rockford. Associated with the J. L. Clark Manufacturing Company since 1953, you have had a distinguished career in administrative management. You have been corporate secretary for the last 18 years and an officer of the company’s charitable foundation. You also have skillfully promoted the passage of important school referenda, presided over chamber of commerce and hospital boards, and provided spirited and effective leadership for wide-ranging community, church, political and business activity.
