1996 Distinguished Service Citation
Your active involvement in the Beloit College social, athletic and academic community during your undergraduate years has carried over to a successful career and a dedication to your current volunteer activities. You credit the influence of the Beloit College faculty in general and your advisor Dan Schroeder and swim coach Bob Nichols in specific who set the example of character and integrity. Following graduation you went on to graduate school in physics at Pennsylvania State University and then served your country as a United States Army Officer assigned as a research scientist at the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center. In 1972 you joined Medtronic, Inc. in Minneapolis and began your rise through the organization to your current position as President of the Brady Pacing Business. In addition, you have maintained strong ties to Beloit by serving first as an Alumni Trustee from 1991 – 1994 and returning as a Trustee last year, assisting the admissions office and serving on the Sesquicentennial Campaign Committee. For twelve years you served on the Board of Trustees of the United Theological Seminary, most recently as its chairman. You also serve on the Boards on The Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches and Advanced Technology Materials, Inc.
Beloit College is proud to acknowledge your dynamic and diversified accomplishments by awarding you this Distinguished Service Citation on the anniversary of your 30th Class Reunion.
