Spotlight on Levi Hansen ’26 Community Fellow with Stateline Community Foundation
Meet Levi Hansen, an Impact Beloit Community Fellow at Beloit College from Chicago double majoring in psychology and creative writing.
Hansen’s fellowship was with the Literacy for Life initiative run by Stateline Community Foundation. Through this program Hansen helped Literacy for Life fulfill its mission of supporting parents to prepare Rock County’s children to succeed when entering kindergarten.
Hansen’s responsibilities consist of partner outreach. He has set up and attended Literacy for Life events, organized communications lists, and created presentations for potential donors. Last fall’s Trunk or Treats events were one of Levi’s favorite moments. As a result of the fellowship opportunity, Hansen developed collaboration skills, learned how to break down big concepts into easily digestible terms, engage in community outreach, and demonstrate professional behavior through appearance and manners.
“Getting out in the Rock County community and being a part of it is fulfilling in a way few other jobs have made me feel. I wish I had more profound words to explain the feeling, but you just feel satisfied with the work.” he said. “It feels real and bigger than yourself.”
When asked what else he would like to share with students, he remarked: “I want others to know that I wish I got involved with the Rock County community much earlier than my senior year of college.”
