Impact Beloit

Developing the next generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and activists — starting by enhancing community-based learning in our own hometown of Beloit.

What is Impact Beloit?

Impact Beloit is the college initiative linking community-based learning and career-readiness programs for our students, deepening their engagement with community organizations and businesses and expanding their professional skills.

At the heart of the Impact Beloit initiative are schools, centers, and partnerships. These structures are the connective tissue that meet students and families where they are and guide students in and through particular learning environments: from high school to college to career.

These are the five schools:

and the four centers:

By unifying career-readiness and community-based learning programs, we advance the college’s mission of empowering our students to lead lives of high achievement, personal responsibility, and public contribution in a diverse society.

How does Impact Beloit help?

  • Students learn about career-readiness and community-based learning capabilities to enhance their Beloit education.
  • Faculty and staff further incorporate community-based learning into their classrooms.
  • Organizations in the city of Beloit connect with the college, creating both a more vibrant community and opportunities to engage with one another.
  • Career Works helps students navigate their pathway, from connecting with a School, to identifying their passion and purpose, pursuing an internship, and preparing to enter the marketplace.

How can and do students engage with the greater Beloit community?

The Impact Beloit Hub: A place for success

Thanks to a Neighborhood Investment Fund Program Grant from the State of Wisconsin, the Col. Robert Morse Library was renovated in 2024. It is now home to the Impact Beloit Hub, where one can find the college’s career readiness and community connections programs.

When he visited the college to award the grant, Gov. Tony Evers cited the college’s “long history of educating citizens of the world. If we want to see our state’s families, communities, and economy succeed for years to come, we need to make investments that spur community outreach and economic development. There’s no better place to make that investment than at Beloit College.”

Built with the community in mind

Beloit College would like to thank the Community Design Team members who helped inform how Impact Beloit could have the greatest impact for our local community. Team members represent Beloit International Film Festival, Community Action, Family Promise of Greater Beloit, Hendricks CareerTek, Kerry Group, Stateline Boys and Girls Clubs, and Todd Elementary.

If you haven’t already done so, please visit the space. If you would like to use the Impact Beloit Hub or classroom for small gatherings, please fill out this form. An Impact Beloit staff member will reach out to you with more information. For more information about our space use policies, please click here.
