February 16 - 22 Think spring! WBCR representatives invited students to host a show at the Student Involvement Fair held at the Powerhouse last week. Most student clubs and organizations had tables. It’s not too late to join a club today!Hello Beloiters! Career Works, Impact Beloit, and Schools at Beloit got the forecast right and are ready to answer questions big and small for all students about next steps this spring. Check out these career-ready events:

Gain invaluable experience and career-ready skills while making an impact in your community! 2026-2027 Community Fellow Applications are due Feb. 23 Think spring all week – whether that’s a summer job, a full-time position, graduate school, or a year of service. Sports Recap Track and Field put on a show in Platteville, with Joshua Martinez Marte ’27 breaking a 48 year-old shot put record with a throw of 15.69 meters. Sprinter Josh Yearby ’27 also topped past performances in the 60-meter dash, setting a new facility and school record with a time of 6.78 seconds. On the women’s side, Addie Bogda ’29 placed first in the 1-mile run, and the 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams took home the gold. Men’s Basketball faced off in a close game against Cornell, with Dae’Quan Davis ’26 netting 10 points as the top scorer. Lathan Lewis ’26 led the team in rebounds with eight, narrowly missing a double-double. Defense was the highlight of the game for the Bucs, forcing 23 Cornell turnovers. Women’s Basketball battled in a tough game against Cornell, with Hailey Johnson ’26 and Kaitlin Davis ’27 scoring 10 points. Johnson was perfect from the free-throw line, going 6-for-6. The bench proved to be a bright spot for the Bucs, contributing 19 total points. Men’s Hockey hit the ice twice this week. In a showdown against UW-River Falls, forward Sky Solig ’27 lit the lamp for the second time this season. Johnny Thrasher ’29 added an additional goal to the Bucs’ tally, his first of the season. On defense, Mac Reed ’28 notched a team-high three blocks. The team also celebrated its first senior day, honoring Sam Holy ’26, Nick Bobroski ’26, and Trey Taylor ’26 for their contributions to Beloit College’s inaugural season. Women’s Hockey was on the road. At Eau Claire, goaltender Janelle Quast ’29 became a human wall for a combined 114 saves in two games. Her teammates showed the same grit to block multiple shots of their own, and prevent the Blugolds scoring in key moments. The strong defensive front gave Kylie Schryer ’28 the opportunity to win 15 faceoffs in two games. The Bucs play their final game of the season against UW-Superior on February 20th. |

New reading groupJoin our new reading group on conservative political thought! Laura Grube and Greg Koutnik are hosting a reading group on conservative political thought that meets every other week at 12:15 p.m. at Majeed Fireside Lounge in MI, 2nd floor, starting Feb. 13. All are welcome. Promote your event Raise awareness about your events and opportunities using the free, online tools that are available for all students (and don’t use up paper or ink!). Nominations open for Spring SymposiumSpring symposium is an opportunity for students who have done or are doing independent research or creative work to share it with the campus community and beyond. Nominations are entered on the Student Symposium portal. The nomination deadline is Feb. 23. Students will receive an email confirming their nomination.
