March 16 - 22 The great outdoors Steven Shik will be on campus from March 16-20 as the Ginsberg Artist-in-Residence. Shik is an artist and illustrator whose work recontextualizes Korean symbolism and his own experiences as an Asian American adoptee. Attend his gallery talk on Tuesday or hear how he builds a sustainable career as an artist on Thursday.Hello Beloiters! We hope you are enjoying the magical snow today! This interest in the environment and sustainability isn’t new — students at Beloit College have a history of making a difference in the world around us. This week offers opportunities to connect with the environment through events hosted by The School of Environment & Sustainability, the Outdoor Environmental Club (OEC), and more!
Make the most of the great outdoors—today and all week long! Sports Recap Men’s Lacrosse improved to a 3-1 record over the weekend with a 5-2 win at Augustana College. Liam Walker ’26 was the Bucs’ top scorer. Keegan Heikila ’28, Ryder Story ’27, and John Imbriale ’28 added a goal each. Parker Davis ’28 was crucial on defense with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Women’s Lacrosse kicked off their season over the break, battling it out against tough opponents. Julia Fussy ’28 leads the team’s overall scoring with six, followed by Willow Mashkuri ’28 with two. Baseball had a productive week in Florida. Bryce Lermer ’29 and Caleb Lasher ’26 pitched a no-hitter against Minnesota Morris, the first of Lermer’s collegiate career. The team’s 14-2 victory against Mount St. Mary marked head coach Dave DeGeorge’s 591st win. With this win, he surpassed Bill Knapton as the winningest coach in Beloit College history. Softball headed to Florida for the Spring Games, playing tough opponents with close scores. Allie Gustafson ’28 batted in four runs in a 16-hit slugfest against Washington College. Rachel Overocker ’27, Avary Briggs ’28, Abi Krepelka ’29 and Kaitlyn Nicholson ’28 added RBIs to the Bucs’ tally. Track and Field competed in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge in South Carolina. On the men’s side, sprinter Nate Otis ’26 secured a first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and thrower Josh Martinez Marte ’27 placed third in discus and shot put. On the women’s side, Addie Bogda ’29 finished a strong second in the 1500 meter. Naomee Casey ’26 was a top performer in the field with a tenth place finish in pole vault. |

Apply to be a summer/fall 2026 Orientation LeaderStudents who serve as Orientation Leaders build valuable leadership, collaborative, social, and organizational skills. Every student who submits a completed application will be interviewed. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 23. |

The Mackey Chair is an annual residency program in which a renowned writer comes to campus, teaching a high-level workshop class and presenting a highly-anticipated reading of their work. Moore Lounge was packed with students and faculty members waiting in eager anticipation.
