James E. Lockwood Prize

This prize, awarded annually to one or more outstanding students in anthropology, was established in 1985 by James E. Lockwood, class of 1934. Mr. Lockwood was president and owner of Lockwood Oil Co. in Rockford, Illinois. He supported scholarships in geology and anthropology, and he contributed many artifacts from his personal collection as well as significant financial support to the Logan Museum and the anthropology department.
